Professor Vecellio has more than 25 years of experience in the field of criminal investigations and forensics and has worked across the world, having served as a supervisory special agent within the U.S. Department of Defense.  His specializations include crime scene processing and reconstruction, forensic photography, and death investigations.  Professor Vecellio possesses Master's Degrees in Forensic Science and Criminal Justice and completed a fellowship in forensic medicine with a focus on forensic pathology.  He has published several articles and a book on topics related to his specializations and has over twelve years of teaching experience in college and in federal training academies.  He is also actively involved in cold case investigations.  He teaches courses in forensic investigations, crime scene processing, forensic photography, death investigations, and fingerprint science.
